If I had to sum up good leadership in one word it would be "collaboration". The old hierarchical methods are dead. You get far more from your team by involving them in the decision making.
This is an intriguing article, Jim! I love the play on the word 'performance' and how it shifts the paradigm of what it means within a non-traditional leadership context. Consider how 'performance reviews' could evolve if the meaning of it were much deeper than what someone does but also who they are and how they show up for others.
Great idea, Josh! Since how someone shows up for other manifests as what someone does, it should be an easy transition--just a matter of emphasis and intentionality.
I have not had the privilege of attending any of his concerts. I generally enjoy the smaller venues. They tend to be more intimate and more focused on the music (in my opinion).
We recently attended a Graham Nash concert. It was a wonderful experience. He addressed members in the audience. It seems like it is that human touch, that makes a product, service and/or promotion valuable.
This is amazing. I’ve been a fan of The Boss forever but never looked at him as a leader before. Your piece lays out with joy just what it takes to be a true leader adding a layer of joy. I am truly inspired to be better at supporting and celebrating my team.

Absolutely! In fact, collaboration is the fourth and of my 4 Cs of Leadership: https://jimsalvucci.substack.com/p/the-4-cs-of-leadership?utm_source=publication-search

Thank you for your post and time.

I wouldn’t say joy is a critical factor in leadership, but the more joy there is, the better the team.
