As a leader, how do you convince others to take a stand?

Great question. It depends who the others are (peers, bosses, team members). The best tack is to set an example, model the behavior. Sometimes people will wonder why you’re taking a stand, so tell them. Doing good takes guts and fortitude, and not everyone has guts and fortitude. So, never push people too hard. The main approach is to assure that you consistently do the right thing. Then allow for others to follow.
